One thing that keeps us going during the long summer days in the office is music. We have pulled together some of B. Robinson/Legacie’s favorite summer jams that make our hot days just a little bit better. The music taste here at B. Robinson/Legacie varies from heavy metal to pop radio songs, and we even have some 60’s fans! Here are some tunes we think should be on your playlist this month:
The obvious first choice to ask about music is Cliff, our Co-President and resident music expert (the “Now Playing” section of his blog is awesome)! Recently, he has been listening to the new The Smashing Pumpkin’s album titled Oceania. This alternative rock band’s new album is as unique and refreshing as ever. Between the mesmerizing vocals and the invigorating guitar solos, what’s not to love?
Doesn’t reggae music just take you somewhere tropical? One of Cliff’s long time favorite summer anthems is Natural Mystic by Bob Marley. Just listen to this song and your mind will wander to the Caribbean.
Next up is Jillian – her summer playlist consist of a lot of energetic songs with great rhythm. One of Jill’s picks is the Gym Class Hero’s new song titled The Fighter featuring Ryan Tedder. This motivational tune inspires people to never give up and to keep fighting no matter what with a beat that will leave you dancing in your office chair.
Another of Jill’s favorites is Tongue Tied by Group Love. This awesome new Indie song was brought to the attention of many through a recent iPhone commercial.
Ray told us his favorite summer hit is Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. This classic stays on many playlists year round, but with its relaxing melody, it is sure to numb you of all problems so you can enjoy the summer!
Our Account Executive Don enjoys listening to the 60’s and 70’s satellite radio station. These tunes remind Don of the music he listened to in the summertime when he was a kid. Don says, “Nothing wrong with a little reminiscing.”
Lastly, Lori Robinson weighed in on her favorite summer anthems. Lori tells us the whole new Maroon 5 album, Overexposed is awesome. Maroon 5’s new hit song Payphone featuring Wiz Khalifa is featured on this top selling album.
Another one of Lori’s favorite artists is Adele. Lori thinks that all of her songs are amazing especially the songs on her albums 19 and 21. With a voice like that, who wouldn’t agree?
